Why is the UK model different to the US model and what are the differences? | Our UK/EU models differ to the US due to a mix of consumer research and to meet safety regulations. |
Differences UK vs US Model:
UK - Start/Stop | |
US - Start/Pause | |
The UK/EU models have an automatic pause feature. This means the timer pauses when the drawers open and it restarts when you re-insert the drawers. This has been really well received in research to allow cooks to turn or shake foods without worrying about the cook time.
UK - Sync, Match | |
US - Smart Finish, Match Cook
All names are tested in research to see if they are understood. We settled on Sync, Match for the UK following numerous rounds of consumer testing.
UK - 2470W | |
US - 1690W | |
Reason: There is a diference in voltage in US vs UK. This means that UK appliances can run on a higher wattage which is good news for UK consumers as it means the cooking time can be quicker. We were able to include heating elements that run on a higher wattage than the US.
